Wind - 2012 Training Day 8

Training Day 8: I had not been to the barn all week, except for Monday, but this was not to ride. This was to say goodbye to our lovely boy, Chiquita. The most amazingly personable, cuddly, wonderful cat who had an opinion about everything and who we shared 14 years with. Such a difficult day! I did spend some time with Wind though and he was kind and sensitive and true to form acted like a big goof and made me laugh. I'm grateful to have had those years with Chiquita and I'm also grateful for a horse like Wind to help see me through the pain of losing him. I did get back to ride yesterday. It was an emotional roller coaster of a ride, but we did 18 miles and we both survived. Onward and upward as they say. Chiquita will always hold a very special place in my heart.

  1. Tammy I could tell you were a bit down yesterday, but was so glad to see that you put your mind to what you had set out to do, and got those miles in! It may have been a tough ride, but you are stronger for it. Good for you!

  2. Thanks Shelley. Seeing that huge smile on your face after riding Spirit was great motivation and I'm so glad you had a lot of fun. You've come so far in such a short time. It really is amazing to watch.
