SPIRIT  - An Endurance Horse Some Day - 72 MILES THIS WEEK!

72 miles this week...how did that happen!!!!!  Not sure the last time we blogged, but on Friday we did two rides, a fast one with Tammy and a beautiful slower loop with the group, that took us through the woods, into a field that overlooks the Ocean from afar (have GOT to start bringing my camera), and then all along the beach at sunset...no wind, beautiful sky...about 20 degrees...."heaven"   Saturday we trailered to Stanley and rode like the Wind, for 15 miles!  Came home and went up the trail "PUDDLE HUNTING" for Caddy - it seems to be the only problem she has with the million different things encountered on a trail.

Looking back, Spirit was tired on Monday, so I didn't push him on Monday.  By Friday, I could tell he had worked through whatever was slowing him down and for the last two days, we've been riding with energy and enthusiasm.   Knowing your horse is a big part of understanding how far/fast you can go as the days accumulate.
