Tidal Treasures Stables: Summer: This weekend has been just terrific! On Saturday, Summer and I trailered to Stanley with the Lynn/Spirit and Tammy/Wind teams and with Troy Beazley being the - "ever fantastic" crew. We did 15 miles with an average speed of 6.7 - Way to go TEAM! and had a great picnic lunch afterwards. The horses had a great time too - and lounged around waiting for us, happy, content and munching hay.
Sunday saw Summer and I with Lynn and Spirit fly up Leland's Road (5 miles) at an 11.56 average for 4.5 miles. (not quite the 13.6 of Wind & Spirit) but eye-watering none the less. Plus - this is the first time we -(Summer & I) have cantered up and back in one continuous run - leading on the way back non-the-less! This IS worth gold, as Summer is much more the follower type and not so much the leading type!
Not a half hour later, Leland's Road saw us again, escorting the lovely and calm Evening in Paris (with Lynn) all the way to the end and back. We trotted some, and she even led for short periods of the route. She is turning into an awsome endurance mount ... not the least of which is because of the inordinate amount of time and effort Lynn has put into her training. The effort is definately paying off Lynn!
